What the Senate was voting on
The Senate voted on whether to add S.Amdt. 5763 to S. 2, which would have transferred unobligated Title X funds under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act to the Treasury’s general fund to reduce the deficit. S. 2 provides $70 billion through FY2029 for immigration enforcement, border security, and related activities. The amendment was rejected, falling 4 votes short of the 50 needed.
