Warner worked in telecommunications-related venture capital, founded Columbia Capital and co-founded Capital Cellular Corporation. Warner served as governor of Virginia from 2002 to 2006.
Warner earned a Bachelor of Arts from George Washington University in 1977 and a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School in 1980. Warner entered telecommunications-related venture capital in the 1980s, founded and led Columbia Capital, and co-founded Capital Cellular Corporation. Warner served as governor of Virginia from 2002 to 2006, then entered the U.S. Senate representing Virginia in 2009.
