Pete Ricketts has represented Nebraska in the U.S. Senate since January 2023. Chair of two Senate subcommittees: East Asia, the Pacific, and International Cybersecurity Policy; and Fisheries, Water, and Wildlife.
A businessman, Ricketts served as governor of Nebraska from 2015 to 2023.
Ricketts earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Chicago in 1986 and a Master of Business Administration from Booth School of Business in 1991. A businessman and part owner of the Chicago Cubs with family members, Ricketts ran unsuccessfully for the U.S. Senate in 2006, was elected governor of Nebraska in 2014, and was reelected in 2018, serving from 2015 to 2023.
