Campaign finance reports show Senate candidates Angie Craig and Michele Tafoya ahead in cash on hand of their party-endorsed primary opponents, Peggy Flanagan and Adam Schwarze. The story also compares fundraising balances in several Minnesota congressional races.
New reports covering finances through June show Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan with about $1.6 million cash on hand and Michele Tafoya with about $2.1 million. Craig’s campaign said she had more than $5 million at the end of June, though her new report was not yet available; Schwarze reported $211,000. Royce White reported $48,000. Flanagan had estimated outside spending in her primary at $12 million.
The article also reports cash-on-hand figures for Minnesota congressional contests, including candidates in the 2nd, 1st, 3rd and 5th Districts. Some figures came from campaigns because updated reports were not yet available on the Federal Elections Commission website.
