Roger F. Wicker has represented Mississippi in the U.S. Senate since December 2007, after serving in the House from 1995 to 2007. Chair of two Senate committees: Armed Services and Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe.
An attorney and former Air Force officer, Wicker served in the Mississippi Senate from 1988 to 1995 and represented Mississippi’s 1st congressional district in the U.S. House from 1995 to 2007.
Wicker earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Mississippi in 1973 and a Juris Doctor from the University of Mississippi School of Law in 1975. Wicker served as a U.S. Air Force officer from 1976 to 1980 and in the Air Force Reserve from 1980 to 2003, and worked as a political counselor on the House Rules Committee during the 1980s. Elected to the Mississippi Senate in 1987, Wicker served from 1988 to 1995. Wicker served in the U.S. House from 1995 to 2007, then entered the U.S. Senate by appointment in 2007.
