Adam B. Schiff has represented California in the U.S. Senate since December 2024, after serving in the House from 2001 to 2024. Ranking member of two Senate subcommittees: Intellectual Property; and Fisheries, Water, and Wildlife.
A lawyer and former federal prosecutor, Schiff served in the California State Senate from 1996 to 2000 and the U.S. House from 2001 to 2024.
Schiff earned a bachelor’s degree from Stanford University in 1982 and a law degree from Harvard Law School in 1985. Schiff worked as a judicial law clerk and an assistant U.S. attorney from 1987 to 1993, then ran unsuccessfully for the California State Assembly in 1994.
