THE BILL · H.R. 8330

Stop Climate Shakedowns Act of 2026

Climate-related lawsuits seek to hold energy businesses responsible for harms linked to climate change. The bill would bar defined climate suits and cases enforcing state climate penalty laws, and require dismissal of covered cases already pending when it takes effect. It would also make federal law the exclusive framework for regulating greenhouse gas emissions and climate change.
