What the bill would do, and why it matters
Memorials can honor military personnel killed in action. This bill would require the Army to place a monument honoring the Zeus 95 crew members killed in action on March 12, 2026, at Arlington National Cemetery or, if no suitable location is available, outside its entrance. The Air Force would agree to pay the monument’s costs.
- INTRODUCED ONLY This bill has been introduced and possibly referred to a committee, but it has not passed any vote. Most introduced bills never become law — they die in committee without a hearing.
- DATA NOTE No Congressional Research Service summary was available.
- Require a memorial for Zeus 95’s crew
The Secretary of the Army would have to place a monument in Arlington National Cemetery honoring the Zeus 95 crew members killed in action on March 12, 2026, in support of Operation Epic Fury. If the Army secretary cannot identify a suitable place inside the cemetery, the monument would go outside its entrance.
- Set design and payment responsibilities
The monument would need a design approved by the Secretaries of the Army and Air Force and would have to be placed on a non-burial plot. The Army secretary could place it only after reaching an agreement under which the Air Force secretary agrees to pay all costs for site preparation, construction, installation, and maintenance.
The bill’s stated purpose is to honor the Zeus 95 crew members killed in action in support of Operation Epic Fury. It would establish a specific location and responsibility for creating and maintaining their monument.
