At a House Judiciary Committee hearing, Rep. Thomas Massie accused Attorney General Pam Bondi and the Justice Department of mishandling the release of Epstein survivors’ names. He said the disclosure violated the Epstein Files Transparency Act and called the handling of the case a decades-long cover-up.
Massie questioned Bondi about the Justice Department’s release of a document containing names that victims’ lawyers had asked the department not to disclose. He said the department had redacted a lawyer’s name but left survivors’ names visible, and argued that the release exposed people who did not want to be identified.
Massie also criticized the redaction of names of Epstein’s associates and described the handling of the case as “bigger than Watergate.” He argued that the alleged cover-up spanned multiple administrations and held Bondi responsible for the department’s part in it.
