Louisiana state Rep. Julie Emerson withdrew from the Republican U.S. Senate race after U.S. Rep. Julia Letlow entered with President Donald Trump’s endorsement. Emerson said Letlow’s entry had diminished her path to victory.
Emerson, who announced her candidacy in October and was challenging incumbent Bill Cassidy, said in a social media post that Letlow’s entry had diminished her path to victory.
