Mike Rogers and Abdul El-Sayed agreed to a live debate in their Michigan U.S. Senate race, scheduled for Oct. 8. El-Sayed also said Rogers had declined five earlier debate challenges.
WOOD-TV will host the Oct. 8 debate, moderated by Rick Albin. Rogers’ campaign website said Rogers would “expose Abdul for the fraud he is.”
El-Sayed’s campaign website said Rogers had dodged five previous debate challenges, including an invitation to a Sept. 15 debate hosted by Fox 2 and the Michigan Debate Commission. Fox 2 anchor Roop Raj said he believes both candidates should participate in multiple debates, including one in metro Detroit.
