After Gov. Ron DeSantis signed new congressional maps, Rep. Jared Moskowitz said he intends to run in newly created FL-25, where several of his former FL-23 opponents are also entering the race. His Democratic primary opponent Oliver Larkin is waiting for a judge to address legal challenges to the maps.
The new map moved FL-23 about 20 miles north to Palm Beach County. A spokesperson said Moskowitz intends to run in FL-25 because most of his constituents would live there under the new boundaries. The district runs along the coast from Palm Beach County to Miami-Dade County.
Three Republican challengers from FL-23—Joe Kaufman, George Moraitis and Scott Singer—are also joining the newly drawn district’s race. Moskowitz’s Democratic primary opponent, Oliver Larkin, said he would not commit to a district until a judge addresses legal challenges to the maps, which he called illegal.
