Colorado congressional candidate Evan Munsing announced he was suspending his campaign for the 8th District Democratic primary, which is scheduled for June 30. His name will remain on the ballot, and he did not endorse either of his two Democratic opponents.
Evan Munsing announced that he was suspending his campaign for Colorado’s 8th Congressional District, just over a month before the June 30 Democratic primary. At the end of March, he had slightly more than $100,000 in cash on hand, compared with more than $1.7 million for opponents Shannon Bird and Manny Rutinel.
In a news release, Munsing said political elites and outside spending had favored his opponents, and accused them of refusing to debate him. He said he would not endorse either opponent and that his name would remain on the ballot; the article reported that all three candidates were scheduled to debate the following evening. The primary winner will face incumbent Republican Gabe Evans in November.
