Peggy Flanagan defeated U.S. Rep. Angie Craig in Minnesota’s DFL Senate primary, while Michele Tafoya won the Republican primary. Flanagan and Tafoya are set to face each other in November for the seat held by Tina Smith.
With nearly all votes counted, Flanagan won 59% to Craig’s 39% in the DFL primary. Tafoya won the Republican primary with 52%, ahead of Adam Schwarze at 24% and Royce White at 11%. The winners will compete in November for the seat Tina Smith is expected to vacate.
