Michael Maxsenti outlined his positions in a primary-election questionnaire compiled by the Southern California News Group. His answers addressed costs and housing, healthcare, election rules, immigration, disaster aid, ethics, the environment, defense and social media.
The questionnaire asked candidates about issues including election administration, immigration, disaster aid, stock trading by lawmakers, environmental regulation and military spending. Maxsenti said he would support measures such as limiting congressional stock trading, increasing oversight of federal agencies and requiring proof of citizenship when registering to vote in federal elections.
On immigration, he called for border enforcement, a legal pathway to citizenship and a more efficient asylum process. He also said Congress should oversee military spending and approve sustained military engagements, and proposed targeted safeguards for young people using social media. The questionnaire notes that responses may have been edited for spelling, grammar, length and, in some instances, to remove offensive language.
