Donald Trump endorsed John Sununu in New Hampshire’s Senate race, backing him over Republican rivals including Scott Brown. Democrat Chris Pappas and Brown responded to the endorsement.
Trump endorsed Sununu on Truth Social, calling him an “America First Patriot” and saying he had his “Complete and Total Endorsement.” Sununu’s campaign did not immediately respond. Sununu previously criticized Trump, including in a 2024 op-ed supporting Nikki Haley’s presidential campaign.
Pappas reposted Trump’s endorsement with the line, “I’m Chris Pappas, and I approve this message.” Brown, who is also seeking the Republican nomination, said New Hampshire voters should have a choice and pledged to “keep working.” A Republican National Committee spokesperson said the seat was one to watch and that Republicans were prepared to campaign for it.
