Jack Perry ended his campaign for the Democratic nomination in Connecticut’s 1st District, leaving John B. Larson with three challengers. Perry said he did not want to “muddy the waters” in a crowded field.
Perry, a businessman and former Southington councilman, entered the race in July and said he had been reflecting on ending his campaign over Thanksgiving. He also cited his young children as part of his thinking. As of Sept. 30, he had raised $28,810, spent nearly $61,000 and loaned his campaign $500,000.
Larson is seeking support from likely delegates to next spring’s Democratic nominating convention. His campaign account had $879,000 as of Sept. 30, behind Luke Bronin’s $1.1 million; Ruth Fortune and Jillian Gilchrest had $35,709 and $44,869, respectively.
