The skyscraper is styled with gold lettering and a red, white and blue spire. The lobby features a golden escalator similar to the one the now-president descended at Trump Tower in New York when he announced his first campaign in 2015. Replicas of the Oval Office, the proposed White House Ballroom, and the “Presidential Walk of Fame” that Trump had constructed during his second term are also shown in the video as highlights of the library and museum. The Obama Presidential Center is set to officially open on the South Side of Chicago on June 19. Notably, Trump is not invited. Former President Joe Biden has not yet announced an exact location for his presidential library, though it is expected to be in Delaware. Former President Barack Obama’s library will feature a new Chicago Public Library branch, a park and a playground, public art installations, restaurants and an athletic center. The Obama Center's main building, which will house the museum, has faced some artistic criticism for its obelisk-style structure of light-colored granite and the poor readability of the words carved into its side from his 2015 speech in Selma, Ala. Credit: trumplibrary.org On Monday, Trump’s political operation contrasted the two visions.  “President Trump’s library vs. Obama’s ugly, prison-like ‘library,’” the Trump War Room wrote on X with a video showing them side by side. “The difference in design and aesthetic is striking ...and a PERFECT metaphor for their presidencies.” Trump’s library is being designed by architecture firm Bermello Ajamil, according to the video. ABC, Meta, X and Paramount were among the companies that pledged tens of millions in donations to Trump’s project. Democratic lawmakers claimed earlier this month that the fund the companies were set to contribute to — The Donald J. Trump Presidential Library Fund — “dissolved” without a paper trail. (PEOPLE reached out to the White House for comment on the allegation.) “It is unclear where this money has gone, exacerbating concerns about corruption,” Sens. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts and Richard Blumenthal of Connecticut, along with New Mexico Rep.
