Lieu earned bachelor’s degrees from Stanford University in 1991 and a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center in 1994. Lieu served on active duty in the Air Force Judge Advocate General’s Corps from 1995 to 1999 and in the Air Force Reserve from 2000 to 2021.
