Steve Daines has represented Montana in the U.S. Senate since 2015, after serving in the House from 2013 to 2015. Not seeking re-election in 2026.
A businessman, Daines worked at Procter & Gamble and RightNow Technologies before entering politics. Daines represented Montana’s at-large district in the House from 2013 to 2015 and chaired the National Republican Senatorial Committee from 2023 to 2025.
Daines earned a Bachelor of Science from Montana State University in 1984. Before entering politics, Daines worked at Procter & Gamble and RightNow Technologies. After an unsuccessful 2008 campaign for lieutenant governor, Daines was elected to represent Montana’s at-large district in the House, serving from 2013 to 2015.
