Roy Blunt
Roy Blunt represented Missouri in the U.S. Senate from 2011 to 2023, after serving in the House from 1997 to 2011.
Blunt served as Missouri secretary of state from 1985 to 1993, represented Missouri’s 7th congressional district in the U.S. House from 1997 to 2011, and served in the U.S. Senate from 2011 to 2023.
Blunt earned a bachelor’s degree from Southwest Baptist University in 1970 and a master’s degree from Missouri State University in 1972. Blunt served as Missouri secretary of state from 1985 to 1993, then represented Missouri’s 7th congressional district in the U.S. House from 1997 to 2011. From 2003 to 2009, Blunt served as House Republican Whip. Blunt served in the U.S. Senate from 2011 to 2023 and chaired the Senate Policy Committee beginning in 2018.
