Mike Lee has represented Utah in the U.S. Senate since 2011. Chair of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee; chair of the Senate Subcommittee on Antitrust, Competition Policy, and Consumer Rights.
A lawyer, Lee clerked for federal judges, served as an assistant U.S. attorney from 2002 to 2005, and was general counsel in the Utah governor’s office from 2005 to 2006. Lee chaired the Joint Economic Committee from 2019 to 2021.
Lee earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Juris Doctor from Brigham Young University in 1997. Lee clerked for a U.S. district court judge and for Samuel Alito on the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, then worked as an assistant U.S. attorney from 2002 to 2005. Lee served as general counsel in the Utah governor’s office from 2005 to 2006 and later clerked for Alito on the U.S. Supreme Court.
