Mick Mulvaney represented South Carolina’s 5th district in the U.S. House from 2011 to 2017.
Before entering Congress, Mulvaney served in South Carolina’s House from 2007 to 2009 and state Senate from 2009 to 2011. Mulvaney represented South Carolina’s 5th congressional district in the U.S. House from 2011 to 2017.
Mulvaney earned a Bachelor of Science from Georgetown University in 1989 and a Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1992. Mulvaney served in South Carolina’s House from 2007 to 2009, then in the state Senate from 2009 to 2011, before representing the state’s 5th congressional district in the U.S. House from 2011 to 2017. From 2017 to 2020, Mulvaney directed the Office of Management and Budget and served as acting director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau from 2017 to 2018.
