Mike Simpson has represented Idaho’s 2nd district in the U.S. House since 1999. Chair of the House Subcommittee on Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies.
Before entering Congress, Simpson served in Idaho’s state legislature from 1984 to 1998 and was the chamber’s speaker from 1993 to 1998.
Simpson earned a bachelor’s degree from Utah State University in 1972 and a Doctor of Dental Surgery from Washington University in St. Louis in 1978. Simpson entered the Idaho House in 1984 and served through 1998, including as speaker from 1993 to 1998.
