A lawyer, Buck served as Weld County district attorney from 1987 to 1990 and chaired the Colorado Republican Party from 2019 to 2021.
Buck studied at Princeton University in 1981 and earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Wyoming College of Law in 1985. Buck worked as a prosecutor from 1987 to 1990 and ran unsuccessfully for the U.S. Senate in 2010.
