Gottheimer earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Pennsylvania in 1997 and a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School in 2004. Before entering Congress, Gottheimer wrote speeches for Bill Clinton, advised the presidential campaigns of Wesley Clark, John Kerry and Hillary Clinton, and worked at Microsoft, Ford Motor Company, the Federal Communications Commission and Burson Cohn & Wolfe.
