John Cornyn

John Cornyn has represented Texas in the U.S. Senate since November 2002. Lost the March 3, 2026 Republican primary for re-election.

Before entering the Senate, Cornyn served as a Texas judge and as state attorney general from 1999 to 2002. Cornyn served as Senate minority whip from 2013 to 2015 and majority whip from 2015 to 2019.
