Jodey C. Arrington has represented Texas’s 19th district in the U.S. House since 2017. Not seeking re-election in 2026.
Arrington worked in George W. Bush’s gubernatorial and presidential administrations, including as a gubernatorial appointments manager in 1996 and a presidential personnel official in 2001. Arrington later held posts at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and Texas Tech University before leading Scott Laboratories.
Arrington earned a Bachelor of Arts from Texas Tech University in 1994 and a Master of Arts there in 1997. In 1996, Arrington became appointments manager for Texas Governor George W. Bush; in 2001, Arrington served in the presidential personnel office as a special assistant and associate director. In December 2001, Arrington became chief of staff at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. Arrington later served as deputy federal coordinator for Gulf Coast rebuilding and held a chief operating officer post from 2005 to 2006. In 2006, Arrington returned to Texas Tech as system chief of staff, later becoming vice chancellor for research and commercialization.
