Herbert C. Conaway, Jr. has represented New Jersey’s 3rd district in the U.S. House since 2025. On the November 3, 2026 ballot for re-election.
A physician and former Air Force officer, Conaway served in the New Jersey General Assembly from 1998 to 2025, including as deputy speaker from 2002 to 2005 and from 2022, and majority whip from 2014 to 2017.
Conaway earned a Bachelor of Arts from Princeton University, a Juris Doctor from Rutgers School of Law–Newark, and a Doctor of Medicine from Thomas Jefferson University. Conaway worked as a physician and served as an Air Force officer. Conaway served in the New Jersey General Assembly from 1998 to 2025, including as deputy speaker from 2002 to 2005 and from 2022, and majority whip from 2014 to 2017.
