Hal Rogers
Hal Rogers has represented Kentucky’s 5th district in the U.S. House since 1981. Chair of the House Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies.
A lawyer, Rogers served as commonwealth’s attorney for Pulaski and Rockcastle counties from 1969 to 1980.
Rogers attended Western Kentucky University in 1957 and earned a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Kentucky in 1964. After serving in the National Guard in Kentucky and North Carolina, Rogers entered private practice. Rogers became commonwealth’s attorney for Pulaski and Rockcastle counties in 1969 and held the office until election to Congress in 1980.
