Matsui advanced to the November ballot after facing a Democratic primary challenge.
Doris O. Matsui has represented California in the U.S. House since March 2005. Ranking member of the House Subcommittee on Communications and Technology.
Matsui worked as a government affairs consultant and served as a deputy assistant to the president in the Clinton administration before entering Congress in 2005.
Matsui earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1966. Matsui served as an assistant from 1993 to 1998 and worked as a government affairs consultant. In 1999, Matsui worked with President Clinton to establish the White House Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders.
