Dave Min is a former UC Irvine law professor and financial policy expert who flipped a traditionally Republican Orange County seat in 2024. Before entering Congress, he served as a senior advisor to Senator Elizabeth Warren and worked extensively on banking regulation and consumer protection issues following the 2008 financial crisis. Min built his campaign around housing affordability, climate action, and strengthening the middle class, appealing to Orange County's increasingly diverse and politically shifting electorate.
