Andy Harris has represented Maryland’s 1st district in the U.S. House since 2011. Chair of the House Subcommittee on Agriculture, Rural Development, Food and Drug Administration, and Related Agencies.
A physician, Harris worked as an anesthesiologist at Johns Hopkins University and served in the Maryland Senate from 1998 to 2010.
Harris served with the Johns Hopkins Naval Reserve Medical Unit from 1989 to 1992. In 1995, Harris earned a Bachelor of Science, a Doctor of Medicine and a Master of Health Science at Johns Hopkins University, and worked as an anesthesiologist there. Harris entered the Maryland Senate in 1998 and served until 2010. After winning election to the U.S. House in 2010, Harris began serving in 2011.Source: Wikipedia · CC BY-SA 4.0
