Al Franken represented Minnesota in the U.S. Senate from 2009 to 2018.
Before entering the Senate, Franken worked as a comedian, actor and screenwriter, and wrote and performed for Saturday Night Live from 1975 to 1995. In 2019, Franken announced a Saturday morning radio show.
