Home Team Act of 2026
Professional sports teams can be closely tied to the cities and fans that support them. The Home Team Act would let government entities and members of the public own teams despite league rules to the contrary. It would also give specified community-based buyers priority to purchase a team before an owner moves it across state lines or eliminates it.
