New Jersey elections

Register online, by mail (form postmarked, stamped or otherwise marked received on or before Oct 13) or in person by Tue Oct 13, 2026 (21 days before). County commissioner of registration offices must offer evening registration 4:00-9:00 p.m. on Oct 13. No same-day or Election Day registration.

Request deadline is a received deadline. In-person application allowed until 2026-11-02. Return: postmark counts (postmarked on or before 8:00 p.m. on Election Day (Nov 3, 2026); USPS-delivered ballots without a postmark count if received within 48 hours of poll closing (by Nov 5)); ballot must be received by 2026-11-09.

By mail: postmarked by Election Day and received by the county board of elections by 8:00 p.m. Mon Nov 9, 2026 (144 hours / 6 days after polls close). In person at the county board of elections or in an authorized secure drop box: by 8:00 p.m. Tue Nov 3. In-person applications at the county clerk until 3:00 p.m. Mon Nov 2.
