Alma Adams brings decades of experience as an educator and artist to Congress, having served as a professor and administrator at Bennett College before entering politics. Known for her distinctive collection of colorful hats and her passionate advocacy for historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs), she has made higher education funding and access a cornerstone of her legislative agenda. Adams also champions nutrition programs, particularly focusing on food insecurity among college students, and has been a vocal advocate for the arts and creative communities throughout her career.
