Bipartisan Senators Seek to Block Kennedy Center Demolition

Outlets agree Lisa Murkowski joined a bipartisan effort to advance a measure aimed at preventing Kennedy Center demolition, and that Sen. Mike Lee blocked the Senate effort.

Left-leaning outlets frame the measure as protection from Trump’s demolition plans and focus on Lee’s role in blocking it. Center outlets stress the congressional-approval requirement and legislative process, with possible year-end action also in view. Right-leaning outlets foreground the center’s deterioration and note that Murkowski and other sponsors will keep pursuing the measure.
