Special Interest Alien Reporting Act of 2025
- Publish monthly encounter reports: DHS would publish a report on a public webpage and send it to the House and Senate homeland security committees. Each report would give the total number of special interest aliens encountered during the prior month and their nationalities or countries of last habitual residence. The bill defines a special interest alien as a non-U.S. national who, based on travel-pattern analysis, potentially poses a national security risk
- Break down where encounters occurred: Reports would break down encounters by geographic region and say whether they occurred at land, air, or sea ports of entry, between ports of entry, or inside the United States. They would also identify any reported nationalities or countries of last habitual residence that are covered nations
- Include a historical reporting period: The first report would also cover encounters from January 20, 2021, through January 19, 2025
