Make the District of Columbia Safe and Beautiful Act of 2025
- Create a public-safety commission: A commission of federal and D.C. representatives would recommend and review actions on public safety, including federal immigration enforcement, support for the Metropolitan Police Department, crime-lab accreditation, concealed-carry license processing, prosecution policies, transit crime, and law-enforcement presence. The commission and its work would end on January 2, 2029
- Coordinate cleaning and repairs: The Interior Department would develop a program for federal and D.C. officials to coordinate cleaning and maintaining public spaces and facilities, including removing graffiti. The program would also seek to restore damaged, defaced, or inappropriately removed or changed public monuments and similar properties, and encourage private-sector participation
- Report on the beautification program: The Interior Department would report to congressional committees on the program’s plan and progress within one year of enactment and annually after that. The program would end on January 2, 2029
