Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act of 2025
- Bars male participation in girls’ sports: A federally funded education program that operates, sponsors, or facilitates athletics would violate Title IX if it allows a person whose sex is male to take part in an athletic program designated for women or girls. The rule would cover athletic activities provided on the condition of participating with an athletic team
- Defines sex for athletics: For this rule, sex would be based solely on a person's reproductive biology and genetics at birth
- Allows limited joint practice: A federally funded program could allow males to train or practice with a program for women or girls, as long as no female loses a roster spot, practice or competition opportunity, scholarship, admission to an educational institution, or another benefit connected to participation
