National Taxpayer Advocate Enhancement Act of 2025

  • Authorizes counsel reporting to the advocate: The National Taxpayer Advocate could appoint counsel in the Taxpayer Advocate Service to report directly to the National Taxpayer Advocate or a delegate
  • Expands personnel authority across TAS: The National Taxpayer Advocate’s authority to take personnel actions would cover any Taxpayer Advocate Service employee, rather than only employees of local taxpayer advocate offices
