Streamlining Procurement for Effective Execution and Delivery and National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2026

  • Authorizes FY2026 defense activities: Would authorize fiscal year 2026 activities for the Department of Defense, including military construction, and national security programs of the Department of Energy. It also includes authorizations for the Maritime Administration and a Coast Guard authorization division
  • Changes defense acquisition rules: Would modify the defense acquisition system and procurement policies to expedite delivery of capabilities to the Armed Forces. The bill also addresses contracting, small businesses, and defense supply chains
  • Sets military personnel levels and policies: Would set active-duty and reserve personnel strength levels and change policies involving military compensation, benefits, recruitment, training, and other personnel matters
