Lower Colorado River Multi-Species Conservation Program Amendment Act of 2025
- Creates a dedicated conservation account: The bill would establish a Treasury fund for states’ contributions to the Lower Colorado River Multi-Species Conservation Program. The Secretary could spend the contributions and any interest under the program documents, without another appropriation
- Invests money not needed immediately: The Treasury Secretary could invest fund amounts not needed for current needs, but only in interest-bearing obligations of the United States
- Moves contributions into the fund: Unspent state contributions made before enactment would be transferred from the Treasury’s general fund to the new account. Future state contributions would be transferred as soon as practicable after they are made, and state parties would not be responsible for investment losses
