Closing the Provider Fraud Gap Act
- Review fraud prevention safeguards: The Comptroller General would study how well measures prevent fraud by providers in federal early-childhood education, child-care, and child-nutrition programs
- Assess federal fraud-detection data: The study would examine whether information the federal government receives, including through audits and reporting requirements, is enough to identify provider fraud and whether the government uses it effectively
- Examine state child-care oversight: For the Child Care and Development Block Grant program, the study would review program-integrity results in states that delegate management or administration to counties, municipalities, or other entities. It would also examine state corrective action plans and any measurable results from them
