US-Japan-ROK Trilateral Cooperation Act
- Negotiate a regular three-country dialogue: Within 180 days after enactment, the Secretary of State would seek negotiations with Japan and South Korea to establish a written agreement for regular meetings among lawmakers from the three countries. The U.S. group would be established only if the governments enter that agreement
- Create a congressional group: The U.S. group would have no more than eight members of Congress, appointed in equal numbers by the House Speaker, House Minority Leader, Senate Majority Leader, and Senate Minority Leader. Members would serve two-year terms, and the group would seek to meet at least annually with the other countries’ legislators and appropriate staff
- Set cooperation priorities: The bill states that the three countries should work together on regional security and prosperity, maritime security, and countering foreign information manipulation and interference. It also says their leaders’ summit should continue regularly
