NASA Transition Authorization Act of 2025
- Authorize NASA’s fiscal year 2025 programs: The bill would authorize $25,507,540,000 for NASA in FY2025, divided among exploration, space operations, technology, science, aeronautics, STEM education, safety and mission services, construction, and the Inspector General
- Continue Moon-to-Mars exploration: NASA would continue developing exploration capabilities for Artemis and Mars, use private-sector services where practical, and obtain human-rated lunar landing capabilities from U.S. commercial providers. NASA would seek to obtain those landing capabilities from not fewer than 2 providers, subject to available appropriations
- Manage the shift from the ISS: NASA would maintain the capability for continuous human presence in low-Earth orbit through and beyond the useful life of the International Space Station (ISS). When commercial stations can provide services, NASA would begin an orderly transition while maintaining operations, and would develop a vehicle to de-orbit the ISS
