Save Our Shrimpers Act
- Direct U.S. opposition to shrimp projects: The Treasury Secretary would instruct the U.S. executive director at each international financial institution to use the U.S. voice and vote to oppose financial assistance for projects supporting shrimp farming, processing, or exports in a borrowing country
- Allow a national-interest waiver: The Treasury Secretary could waive the opposition requirement for a project after notifying Congress that the waiver is in the national interest of the United States
- End the requirement after seven years: The requirement to oppose assistance would expire at the end of the seven-year period beginning on the date of enactment
