Gulf of America Act

  • Renames the Gulf of Mexico: The Gulf of Mexico would be known as the Gulf of America. References to the Gulf of Mexico in U.S. laws, maps, regulations, documents, and other records would count as references to the new name
  • Updates federal maps and documents: The Interior Secretary, through the Chairman of the Board on Geographic Names, would oversee the change on federal maps and documents. Each federal agency would have to update its maps and documents within 180 days of enactment
