WHAT IT WOULD DO · 1 PROVISIONINTRODUCED IN SENATE
  1. Include debt costs in estimates

The Congressional Budget Office and the Joint Committee on Taxation would have to include, to the extent practicable, any costs of servicing the public debt in their estimates.

THE CONTEXT

Including debt-servicing costs could give lawmakers a fuller picture of the budget effects reflected in estimates. The bill makes the requirement subject to what is practicable.

Written from the bill text.
